You will be there from the start, developing, leading and managing the day-to-day operations of what we hope will be one of the largest developers in Cornwall. What makes us different is the scale of our ambition, the variety of projects and the purpose behind our plans. Our goal is to deliver projects and properties that will have longevity and genuinely contribute to Cornwall’s communities. This means good quality homes that people can afford to live in, that are cheap to heat, have good storage, have enough space that people can live healthily and happily and where people will have secure tenures. Coupled with this is a determination to use local workforce and suppliers wherever possible, feeding down into the regional economy. This is a unique opportunity to help Cornwall to build a better future for itself.
We are looking for someone with a strong development background, real commercial credentials and an impressive track record, that the council can have confidence in to deliver. You must possess the drive and energy to build something from the start and to match the scale of our ambition.
This role requires an inspirational leader with an entrepreneurial spirit that can spot opportunities, make markets and change the whole mindset about how we approach development in Cornwall. We want our new company to be bold, creative and think big and we will expect the Managing Director to challenge us to do the same.
Strong people skills and a collaborative style are essential. The ability to work with and promote positive relationships across a wide range of important stakeholders in Cornwall, regionally and nationally can’t be underestimated. Working closely with the Chair, Non-Executives and Commercial Director, we’re entrusting you to create a profitable, high performing and successful business that can build a better future for Cornwall’s communities
This is an exciting, wide-ranging role that will offer the successful applicant exposure to significant housing development, commercial workspace development and major mixed-use regeneration schemes. There’s the opportunity to shape something from the very beginning, to innovate and to make new markets.
